Owned and operated in the Education Hill neighborhood of Redmond, Washington for over 15 years with all tutoring provided for by Carol Villeneuve, sole proprietor.

Mission Statement: To increase students’ skills in math, including problem solving, test-taking and organizational skills; to improve their ability to infer, transfer, and retain information; and to enhance their confidence overall.

Rate: $45.00/hour

Subjects Covered Include:

  • 7th and 8th grade math
  • Pre-Algebra
  • Algebra
  • Geometry
  • Trigonometry
  • Math Analysis
  • Other – depending on the topics covered

Tutoring Provided For:

  • Junior High and High School (Grades 7-12)
  • Home Schooled Students
  • Students preparing for math entrance exams, like the Compass test
  • Supplemental tutoring for SAT/ACT preparation
  • Students in summer school desiring more support
  • College Students – depending on subject material
  • Adults going back to school

A one hour session could include any combination of the following:

  • Reviewing previous taught lessons
  • Assisting with current lessons and homework
  • Previewing upcoming material
  • Preparing for exams
  • Learning how to fully utilize their textbook, calculator
  • Building organizational and retention skills
  • Increasing confidence levels

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree from Western Oregon University in Mathematics
  • Master of Arts in Teaching Degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland
  • Current Washington State Teaching Certificate

Teaching Experience… Over 10 years of teaching experience, including:

  • 2 years at West Linn High School in Oregon
  • 5 years at Eastside Catholic High School
  • 3 years (part-time) at Evergreen Junior High in Redmond
  • 2 summers teaching summer school and 3 summers teaching an enrichment class for the Lake Washington School District

Tutoring Experience

  • 4 years tutoring for Sammamish Tutoring
  • 15 years tutoring with my own business, Education Hill Math Tutoring
  • Tutored 580 sessions during the 2009-2010 school year
